Jonathan Lasser and David Krouse each spent years as partners at a mid-size Bergen County firm before opening Lasser & Krouse. Both clerked in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Family Part. Both practice in the courts where your matter will actually be heard.

Being small is a decision about how work gets done. A partner reads your contract, prepares your appearance and returns your call. Agents, lenders and opposing counsel get the same access, because deals and cases move faster when the person with authority is the one on the line.

Will I actually work with a partner?
Yes. Jon and David are the firm. One of them handles your matter from the first conversation through the end, and that is the person who answers when you call.
Which courts do you appear in?
The Superior Court of New Jersey, most often in Bergen County, and municipal courts across northern New Jersey. Jon is also admitted in New York.
How do fees work?
We explain the fee arrangement for your matter before you commit to anything, and we put it in a written engagement agreement so there is nothing to guess at.
I’m already under contract on a house. Is it too late?
Usually not, but attorney review in New Jersey runs on a short clock after signing. Call the day you sign, or sooner, so we can protect your position.
What should I not put in the contact form?
Anything confidential. Until we have run a conflict check and confirmed we can represent you, keep the details for a phone call. The form is for your name, your number and the type of matter.
Where do I park?
There is metered street parking on and around Court Street and public lots nearby in downtown Hackensack. Tell us when you book and we’ll point you to the closest option that day.
